How a diverse, seemingly unrelated background found a new outlet
"I want to be a doctor in Africa" a baby, star-eyed version of me would tell grown-ups. The image I had was synonymous with working at the Red Cross. Anything other worldly, from astronaut to biologist that traveled the world, documenting various species, but somehow I ended in ‘art’- design and fabrication to be specific, because at the time, there was a distinction. A bachelors that essentially portrayed my communication style; visual forms that encompassed a variety of elements as opposed to convoluted words that could have various interpretations. Once that iteration found its form, I could move forward, to the part where I "help" people, or pretend to while I flush out my experience to make efforts (mine and others) purposeful for a sustainable future- to what extent? Time, research and experience will tell. Each new stopping point, while seemingly off the standard path, have consolidated themselves into fragments I will form into a unique constellation. For this time being, here we are.

Whole Blood Collections
From basic health history to venipuncture, I found the stories of medical professionals in my life incredibly grounding as I progressed through this much wanted, though slightly overwhelming, training. ESL, design and various backgrounds served as a universal connection with donors as I focused on techniques, procedures and workflow.
